David’s alter ego is AndYes! AndYes is an Asexual First-Generation Cuban-American performance poet and spoken word artist with the arts and activism group “Zero Forbidden Goals”.
In 2015, he represented the city of Sacramento in the National Poetry Slam (the city’s first representation at NPS in 8+ years), and 100 Thousand Poets for Change overseas in Salerno, Italy.
AndYes has also been featured across Sacramento, The Bay, Nationally, and Internationally, putting his heart and soul into each performance, showing the struggle of being half-Cuban and asexual while living with clinical Major Depression and still showing love to the world (and finding it within).
He can be reached by email for booking and workshop details.
David’s barnyard animal is the Saint Bernard, “because I’m a big, fluffy, cuddly person. Also, because almost everyone I’ve met, when asked what dog I am, says a St. Bernard.” David is calm and easy going, but fiercely protective of his pack. He is also loving, tolerant, and generally quite good natured. Of course, David still has a puppy side and can be very boisterous and playful!
